This year I went back to doing the sprint distance at the local tri in Ithaca, the Cayuga Lake Triathlon. This was my 5th time total doing this race -- my third time doing the sprint, and I had done the intermediate distance the past 2 years.
On Sunday I did the Gillie Girl Sprint Triathlon in Camillus, NY. I did this race in 2014 and 2016, so it was my third year doing it. The nice thing about doing the same race multiple times is that you don't get very nervous! Also it's fun to be able to compare your times to previous years on the same course.
Last Sunday I did the intermediate distance tri at the Cayuga Lake Triathlon for the second year.
This weekend I did the Gillie Girl Triathlon, an all-women sprint triathlon with proceeds benefiting the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. This was my second time doing this race - I did it in 2014 with my friend Carolyn.
Today was my first lake swim of 2016. On Saturday mornings before public swim starts at Taughannock Park, there is an area open with lifeguards for people to practice swimming for the Cayuga Lake Tri. It's pretty convenient, and I don't get out in the lake much, so I took advantage of it today. I saw lots of tri people there biking and running before/after swimming. I saw Amy and her son practicing the youth bike route. Kara and her husband Dave were just finishing up a bike-run and were getting in the water the same time I was. I saw 2 coworkers biking after I was done swimming.
